Im August und Oktober 2005 haben wir in der Schulkirche Amberg unsere erste CD aufgenommen. Die International Trumpet Guild schreibt in der Januarausgabe 2007:
"This self-titled release by Germany’s Zephir Trumpet Ensemble starts with a veritable slap in the face by R. J. Miller. Miller’s Fanfare immediately establishes the group’s high, fast and loud credentials. However, one soon discovers that high, fast and loud is merely the tip of the iceberg with this group of excellent young trumpeters. An entire program of trumpet ensemble music may seem a bit daunting to all but the most hardened trumpet geek. But rest assured that there is enough variety on this program to satisfy anyone. Included are fresh readings of such standards as the Clarke and Mouret with stops for an alphorn duet and a piece featuring didgeridoos. This group can change style and color to suit any occasion. Baroque pieces are treated with tasteful ornamentation, and German Romantic orchestral style is admirably displayed in the Wagner. There is even a very creditable impersonation of Harry James to close the program. Two of the group’s trumpeters show exemplary ability as arrangers and are eminently able to bring out the best in their colleagues. The Zephir Trumpet Ensemble, from the sounds on this wonderful CD, is a group from which we will undoubtedly hear great things in the future.
